I think...

S U R R E D E R

When you surrender to somebody you recognize that the other person is stronger, wiser, smarter than you and after surrendering to that person you are aware that your fate is depending on the whims of that person so you also hope that the person to whom you are going to surrender is full of mercy and good judgment and, he will take care of you. Also you surrender to somebody only after your ego is completely shattered due to defeat or your wise thinking (and seeing) that the other person is mightier than you.

This is what exactly the Buddhist thinks and he (she) surrenders to Buddha by praying “Buddham sharanam gachchhami” That means I surrender to Buddha.

Some people think the same way when they say that the God is their Lord (Malik, the owner) and they are merely the servants (Banda) of the Lord.

In Feudal (mediaeval) days, the general population simply surrendered to the lords of the estates in the provinces and the lord of the estates used to take care of them.

A son always looks up to his father for his well-being. A son obeys the father and the father makes sure that his son is well fed, has good clothes, has good education, etc. etc. If on the other hand the son disobeys, (challenges, and does not agree with or in the other words does not like to surrender) his father is upset and punishes in the interest of his son. We see this when some of us treat God as Father.

When we say God is Great we immediately submit to Him, we surrender to him (for our protection). Then, our ego is vanished.

And when we want to start to do anything,we say if God (wishes)permits me I will be successful. Most of the people invoke Ganesh and seek his blessings (permission) to start any project. Here I think this way. We do not take permission from somebody who is weaker than us. We take permission only from the stronger person and when we acknowledge the fact (directly or indirectly) that we are surrendering to that person and we do not have any ego that we can do what we want.

But we cannot be fatalist also. We have to fulfill our duty by actions without the ego, Why? Because Bhagwan Krishna has specifically told (“ordered” or in a nicer word I should say “inspired”) us that we must see that the tasks we are assigned must be completed no matter what is the outcome. It might take little longer and there might be tons of obstacles, but with faith and patience we must keep on doing our duty. Bhagawan Krishna who is almighty God is strongest, wisest in the entire universe and hence it is most foolish to challenge Him. That’s why we say Om Shree Krishnya Namah – I bow down (surrender) to Shree Krishnya to pray. So we surrender to Him and follow his orders. And, He will take care of us. “Yoga kshemum vahamyahum – I will take care of (your) welfare,” says the Lord.

‘Let us be humble and not boastful for any of our achievements as every thing happens with the grace of God Panduranga and His wish. tooch karataa aani karvitaa, ,(Panduranga is the cause.)sharan tulaa bhagvantaa.
(Therefore, I seek refuse in you, O Lord!) OM

Prayer (the best wish) is one of the best free gifts we receive.

St. Theresa's Prayer:
May today there be peace within.
May you trust God that you are exactly where you are meant to be.
May you not forget (have PATIENCE ) the infinite possibilities that are born of faith.
May you use those gifts that you have received, and pass on the love that has been given to you...
May you be content knowing you are a child of God...
Let this presence settle into your bones, and allow your soul the freedom to sing, dance, praise and love.
It is there for each and every one of us.

F A I T H (S H R D D H A) and P A T I E N C E (S A B U R E E)

You have to give instructions to the computer in a language that is understood by the computer such as C, C++, HTML, Pascal, JAVA, SQL etc, etc in a logical order. So, for the computer we have to have complete logic. Not only this but, these languages have their own proper usage of words (Coding), grammar or syntax. One small mistake such as putting a comma, or semi colon and all your million lines of instructions to computer will be useless and your computing program will not ‘run’.
No language is required in case of Pooja or prayer, In fact there is a story about a devotee. He had a complete faith that if he composed a beautiful prayer The Lord will be pleased. So He thought and thought for the perfect words and the style etc. But he could not find proper words. He said to the Lord, Bhagavan, “Hey, Bhagavan, I do not know how to compose a devotional prayer for you. So, I offer You all the 26 alphabets from A to Z and You compose the prayer for yourself. After all You are the real Dnyani, (You are the most knowledgeable in the whole universe.) And he waited patiently for the Lord to appear in front of him. And God did appear in front of him and said to him, “You are the greatest devotee. This is the best Prayer I received in ages.”
In other words in Pooja any thing is allowed, and there is no logic, or proper usage of words, grammar or syntax or any particular language. There is no logic in prayer. But there are only two things required. First you must have total FAITH (Shrdhdha) and then you must have PATIENCE (Saburee).

Shiradinivasi Saibaba said, "Give me two pennies (FAITH (Shrdhdha) and PATIENCE (Saburee)) and I will give you everything from my coffers."

Why women cry...

A little boy asked his mother, "Why are you crying?" "Because I'm a woman," she told him. "I don't understand," he said. His Mom just hugged him and said, "And you never will."

Later the little boy asked his father, "Why does mother seem to cry for no reason?" "All women cry for no reason," was all his dad could say. The little boy grew up and became a man, still wondering why women cry.

Finally he put in a call to God. When God got on the phone, he asked, "God, why do women cry so easily?"

God said: "When I made the woman she had to be special. I made her shoulders strong enough to carry the weight of the world, yet gentle enough to give comfort. I gave her an inner strength to endure childbirth and the rejection that many times comes from her children. I gave her a hardness that allows her to keep going when everyone else gives up, and take care of her family through sickness and fatigue without complaining. I gave her the sensitivity to love her children under any and all circumstances, even when her child has hurt her very badly. I gave her strength to carry her husband through his faults and fashioned her from his rib to protect his heart. I gave her wisdom to know that a good husband never hurts his wife, but sometimes tests her strengths and her resolve to stand beside him unfalteringly. And finally, I gave her a tear to shed. This is hers exclusively to use whenever it is needed."

"You see my son," said God, "the beauty of a woman is not in the clothes she wears, the figure that she carries, or the way she combs her hair. The beauty of a woman must be seen in her eyes, because that is the doorway to her heart - the place where love resides."

The little child...

The little child whispered,
"God, speak to me"
And a meadowlark sang.
But the child did not hear.
So the child yelled,
"God, speak to me!"
And the thunder rolled across the sky
But the child did not listen.
The child looked around and said,
"God let me see you"
And a star shone brightly
But the child did not notice.
And the child shouted,
"God show me a miracle!"
And a life was born
But the child did not know.
So the child cried out in despair,
"Touch me God, and let me know you are here!"
Whereupon God reached down
touched the child.
But the child brushed the butterfly away
And walked away unknowingly.

    GOD WILL HELP ME!

Jim, who lived near a river was a very religious man. One day, the river rose over the banks and flooded the town, and Jim was forced to climb onto his porch roof. While he was sitting there, a man in a boat came along and told Jim to get in the boat with him. Jim said "No, that's ok. God will take care of me." So, the man in the boat drives off.

The water rose more, so Jim climbed onto his roof. At that time, another boat came along and the person in that one told Jim to get in. Jim replied, "No, that's ok. God will take care of me." The person in the boat then left.

The water rose even more, and Jim climbed on his chimney. Then a helicopter came and lowered a ladder. The woman in the helicopter told Jim to climb up the ladder and get in. Jim told her "That's ok." The woman said, "Are you sure?" Jim said, "Yeah, I'm sure God will take care of me.

Finally, the water rose too high and Jim drowned. Jim went up to Heaven and was face to face with God. Jim said to God "You told me you would take care of me! What happened?" God replied "Well, I sent you two boats and a helicopter. What else did you want?"

This joke makes me laugh. But, I might have ignored God's help many times, I think...

There are so many things we can talk about. Many times we compare ourselves with our friends and others and when we find ourselves less than some body we are then jealous of such a person. So I have a simple solution for this. When I find that one of my friends is more intelligent than me then I feel that soon I will be jealous of him. So, I think that I should compare myself with Albert Einstein instead of him. This way, immediately I upgraded myself in better position. So I will be jealous of Albert Einstein only and nobody else as far as intelligence is concerned. Similarly I should be jealous of Bill Gates and nobody else as far as wealth is concerned. So I will be never jealous of any body whom I know because nobody is close even to these great personalities.

Another thing comes to my mind: When things go really wrong as in the case of Murphy's law, we are worried and when things go really bad we are very much depressed. If I am in a such a terrible situation I think that I should compare my situation with the situation of the greatest warrior Arjuna. Even though Lord Krishna was his friend and savior, Arjun had to face the greatest hardships and humiliation. As soon as I think in this way, my terrible situation becomes bearable.

Now the greatest question for me: These are just my thoughts and there is no action from me. So I could not get rid of jealousy and when things go really bad I am very much depressed from time to time. So help me GOD.
